UK Tournaments
The 6th Leg of the GUKPT kicks us off in the UK live poker scene in August, to be held at the Grosvenor Casino Luton on the 8th August. The main event is a £1,000 buy in no limit hold’em tournament which offers the winner a seat to the grand final as well as the large cash prizes.
From there we move over to the Macau Sporting Club in Cork, Ireland for the Irish Classic. This festival lasts from the 11th - 17th Aug playing eights events. As well as the €1,600 main event there is a World Series of Poker Europe satellite event for the forth coming WSOPE.
Over to the Dusk Till Dawn card room in Nottingham for the 2008 Dusk Till Dawn Deep Stack Festival holding seven different events from the 21st - 25th Aug. After this the London Victoria Casino is hosting the 2008 World Amateur Poker Championship (APAT) from the 27th - 31st Aug, featuring four different events with a low price buy in. Entrants must register as a member of the APAT which is completely free before they can enter these events.
Other European Tournaments
On the European stage there is the 2008 Olympic Summer Festival being held in four different countries over the whole of August. Each festival will have a number of different events along with some low buy in events to suit all players. We start off in Estonia on the 4th Aug - 10 Aug, then on to Latvia from the 12 - 17 August. The third festival is in Lithuania from the 18th - 24th Aug and finally on to Poland from the 25th - 31st Aug.
Also in the middle of the month there is the 2008 CAPT festival in Graz, Austria. There will be four tournaments being played over four days, starting on the 13th Aug and ending with the €2,000 main event on the 17th Aug. The full UK and European schedule is listed below.
