Once the cards were in the air the eliminations came at a steady pace with all players guaranteed at least a $100,000 pay day from 63rd place onwards. The notable names to fall early on included Joe Sebok (56th place $108,047), Tom Schneider (52nd place $138,568) and Fabrice Soulier (49th place $138,568).

Dennis Phillips attempt to make back to back main event final table’s came to an end in cruel style when his :ad :kd was beaten by :as :ks after his opponent Rivered a spade flush.  Philips exit in 45th place won him $178,857.  Blair Rodman whose day job is a poker author went out in 34th place ($253,941).  He moved his short stack in with :jh :8c and found himself with a chance up against pocket Fours.  The pocket pair held up as the board blanked out for Rodman.

Play slowed down quite a lot during the last level of play with each level of payout now being worth over $100,000.  The final hand of the day saw Joe Wa5rd going out in 28th place ($253,941) when his :as :kh was beaten by :ah :qc as a Queen fell on the River.
