Event 41 - $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Shootout
Peter Traply became the first ever Hungarian to win a WSOP bracelet in event 41. 300 competitors started out all playing 10 man tables and only the winner’s from each table made it to day 2. The remaining 30 players played on a six seater table and the winner from each made up the final table of five.

Event 42 - $2,500 Mixed Eight Game
After twice finishing as runner up, Jerrod Ankenman finally managed to win his first WSOP bracelet in event 42. He outlasted 412 entrants playing Mixed Eight Game where the games rotate between eight different poker disciplines. Ankenman entered the final table with a huge chip lead, almost double of what his nearest rival had and this time was not to be denied of his first bracelet win.

Event 43 - $1,000 Seniors World Championship
Michael Davis picked his spot to take down the Seniors championship in event 43 beating a huge turn out of 2,707 players starting out. He didn’t have the chip lead at all at any stage until just a few hands before winning the event. Davis picked his spot’s well making the heads up show down under the radar.

Event 44 - $2,500 Seven Card Razz
Jeff Lisandro won his third 2009 WSOP bracelet again in a Seven card event, this time playing Razz. His previous two wins was playing Seven Card Stud and the Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo championship. Along with his third piece of gold he took home another $188,370 to add to his bank roll.

Event 45 - $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Hold’em
John Kabbaj has taken the 2009 Pot Limit world championship title in event 45. The last championship event before the big one, the WSOP main event. The Englishman outlasted 275 entrants to take the $633,335 first place prize and his very first WSOP bracelet.
