185 players started out in day six of the 2009 World Series of Poker main event and as with all previous days the elimination’s came thick and fast.

The early eliminations included Thierry Van Den Berg, Nasr El Nasr and British TV star Michael Grecco who had a good WSOP overall making a final table in a previous event.   Grecco was unfortunate to run :ac :kh into Scott Bohlman holding pocket Aces.

Day six was a bad day for the two remaining former champion’s left in the field Joe Hachem and Peter Eastgate, as both went out midway through the day.  Hachem got all his chips in with :jc :9c on a flush draw but lost out to his opponent holding pocket fours.  Peter Eastgate was looking good to win the pot after the Turn in his elimination hand, when having top two pair, but his opponent Billy Kopp hit a flush on the River to send him to the rail.

Just 64 players remained as the day came to an end with Darvin Moon taking almost 10 million in chips into day seven.  Billy Kopp had a good day finishing second and Phil Ivey also had a very solid day finishing third.  Another big name to have a good day making it into the top 10 was Antonio Esfandiari taking 5.6 million through in 6th place.
