WSOP 2008 Event 12 $1,500 Limit Hold’em

880 players entered the $1,500 Limit Hold’em tournament, the 12th event at the World Series of Poker. The prize pool reached $1,201,200 with the first place prize set at $257,105. Of the 880 starters 81 players cashed in with players earning a guaranteed $2,882 for making it past the bubble. A host of poker pro’s started out this event with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Tom Schneider Chris Ferguson and Daniel Negreanu.
After two days gruelling play the players still hadn’t reached the final table stage of the tournament with 18 players returning for the third day. Erick Lindgren lasted until just before the final table stage going out in 10th place running into Mark Gosler’s pocket Kings.
Chung Law was the first player to go on the final table with in just a few hands. Law moved all his chips in the middle with pocket Tens but found himself behind up against Jimmy Shultz with pocket Jacks. The final board ran out
confirming his exit in ninth place winning $23,423.
Not long after Christoph Niesert moved All In on the short stack and was called by both Shultz and Zac Fellows. Both players checked down the cards and Fellows took the pot having a pair of Kings to eliminate Niesert eight place.
Just after the break Ali Eslami lost all of his chips in the space of a few hands and was finished off by Shultz. Shultz dominated his

and hit an Ace on the Turn to eliminate Eslami. Shultz continued his dominance taking out Mark Golser making a good call after the Flop came down

but was behind against Shultz’s
No help on either Turn or River for Gosler left him to head for the rail in seventh place.
Teddy Monroe started out on the final table on the short and managed to last up until this point. Unfortunately for him he became Schultz next victim in a three way pot also involving Brendan Taylor. Shultz won the hand hitting a straight to pick up another pot.
The next two elimination came in quick succession after a long period of slow play. First of all Brendan Taylor was beaten by Vinny Vinh holding pocket Eights after the board came down
Just a few hand later we were down to heads up as Shultz eliminated Vinh hitting middle pair on the Flop when Vinh only had
Heads up lasted for over two hours but Shultz put his large chip stack to good use. The end came for Fellows when Shultz Rivered a flush up against pocket three’s. Jimmy Shultz dominated this final table throughout and deserved the $257,105 first place prize and the coverted WSOP bracelet
