WSOP 2008 Event 13 $2,500 No Limit Hold’em

Event 13 at the World Series of Poker was the $2,500 buy in no limit hold’em tournament. 1390 players started out with many of the top poker players in attendance. The prize pool rose to $3,475,000 with the last 99 finishers making the money, the first place prize set at $666,777.
A total of 1253 players didn’t make the second day with just 137 remaining. At the top of the chip leader board was Eli Elezra with $147,000 in chips followed by Theo Tran on $134,900. The second day lasted for over 12 hours before the final nine players remained, Duncan Bell was leading the field on just under $2 million in chips, the rest of the final table was as follows.

gave Bell a set taking a huge lead in the hand to which Ditzik never recovered. Just seven hands later Bell increased his chip lead eliminating Ariel Soffer in the process. Bell rivered a King high straight holding

Bell’s luck continued as just five hands later on hand 16 he eliminated Jason Sanders with pocket Deuces, hitting a full house on the final board of

Merrifield held the chip lead at the start of heads up but wasn’t too far ahead of Bell. Bell came back at Merrifield early taking the lead and then finishing off the event just after. All the chips went into the middle after the Flop came down
Merrifield had pocket Tens but found himself behind against Bell’s pocket Aces. The final two cards came down
confirming Bell as the winner picking up the $666,777 first place prize and the WSOP bracelet.
