Event 15 at the World Series of Poker saw the start of the Ladies World Championship event with 1,190 players starting out. The first place prize on offer to the winner was $244,702, as the total prize pool rose to $1,082,000. Most of the well known Lady poker pro’s was in attendance along with a few celebrities in the field.
The bubble burst on the first day with the elimination’s coming thick and fast, the last 99 players cashed in and by the end of the first day, the field had shrunk to just 63 players left, to battle out the race for the final table. Svetlana Gromenkova took the chip lead half way through day two and stayed there right until the final table positions were decided. The rest of the table chip rankings at the end of day two was as follows:

After just two orbits on this final table saw the two short stacks double up and then came the first elimination. Sue Porter moved All In after the Flop came down

Play slowed down and it wasn’t until the 84th hand of play before the next player headed for the rail. Roslyn Garcia did well to come back from the short stack position but lost out with

When the players returned from the break Svetlana Gromenkova moved back in the lead, eliminating Debbie Mitchell out in 6th place. Gromenkova flopped trip Jacks leaving Mitchells
drawing dead after the Turn. Fifth place was decided almost immediately after as Crumpler’s pocket Kings was cracked by Anh Le pairing an Ace on the Flop.
Priday’s day ended after loosing the majority of her chips to Gromenkova running into pocket Aces. Anh Le finished her off on the next hand as her

Priday picked up $73,637 for her hard work.
Patty Till was on the short stack through out three handed play and ended up moving All In with :ks:6h and was called by Gromenkova with pocket Nines. A flopped set for Gromenkova left Till needing help which never came.
Gromenkova lead Le in the chip rankings at the start of heads up, with a $1.4 million chip stack against Le on $890,000. Le started off taking the chip lead doubling up with

when hitting a Five on the Flop. Gromenkova came back at Le taking the chip lead back before finishing her off with pocket Kings. A deserved win for Gromenkova leading the field from the start taking down the $244,702 first place prize and the WSOP bracelet.
