WSOP 2008 Event 9 - Rep Poter wins gold in the six handed event

1,236 players started out in the 9th World Series of Poker event being the $1,500 no limit hold’em six handed tournament. Six handed tournaments are always played at a very fast pace as players normally play more marginal hands than they would on 9 or 10 seater tables. The prize pool in this event reached $1,687,410 with 126 players all cashing in. The first placed prize was set at $372,929.
As play reached the end of day two John Conkright held a healthy lead with nearly $1 million chips closely followed by Michiel Brummelhuis on $883,000. Anatoly Shilyuk brought up the rear on the short stack on $310,000 but had time to make his mark on the final table.

Michiel Brummelhuis was the first player out at the final table as his

Rep Porter flopped an Ace which was enough to win the pot as Brummelhuis missed the board completely. Brummelhuis took home $53,313 in 6th place.
