The $1,000 NL hold’em with rebuys event, the 5th in the series attracted 766 entrants with the opening rebuy period always being fast and furious. Players were going All In blind on multiple hands trying to build up a sizeable chip stack. This isn’t always the best tactic as proved by last years winner Michael Chiu who won the event with out rebuying once. The total amount of rebuy’s reached a whopping 2,258 which created a total prize pool of $2,894,094
Once the rebuys were over the eliminations came thick and fast with the most notable names to go was Dario Minieri, J.C Tran, Freddy Deeb Barry Greenstein and Mike “the mouth“ Matusow.
As the day drew to a close Phil Ivey was doing well leading the field with a $175,000 chip stack. Amit Makhija who made the final table in event 1 was close behind on $161,100. Daniel Negreanu and John Juanda was also doing well n there respected tables.
The second day saw the return of the 106 remaining players with 72 of them set to cash. Play was slow to start with but as soon as the bubble burst things opened up as players left the tournament think and fast. Michael Banducci dominated the tables he was and finished the day off in the chip lead going into the final table.

We lost two players on the fifth hand of play on the final table. Steve Gross on the short stack was All In with 
Jamie Rosen called All In with 
and Lyric Duveyoung called with pocket Queens. The final board came down 
leaving Gross to collect $57,881 in 9th place and Rosen won $79,587 in 8th.
Just three hands later the next player was gone. Michael Binger moved All In with 
and was called by Jeff Williams with 
Williams hit two pair on the final board showing 
to eliminate Binger out in 7th place.
A long whiled had past before the next elimination hand came about as play had slowed down considerably. Jonathan Aguiar was that unlucky person as he lost all his chips in the space of two hands. First of all he called an All In move from Peter Gould with 
against pocket Fives. Gould hit a Full House on the Turn leaving Aguiar with just over $100,000 in chips. On the next hand of play he shoved them all into the middle with 
Jeff Williams made the call with 
Williams won the hand as the fell on the Turn leaving Aguiar to collect $130,234 in 6th place.
Not long after this Alan Jaffray increased his chip stack to well over $1 million in chips doubling up against Peter Gould. Just five hands later his tournament was over as he tangled with the chip leader Banducci. All the chips went into the middle with Jaffray having 
and Banducci holding Pocket Queens The Flop of 
put Banducci into the lead having a set and only running Aces or spades would save Jaffray. The on the Turn gave him a little ray of hope but the on the River confirmed his exit. This win had given Banducci a huge chip lead over the rest of the field.
Peter Gould picked up the next knock out hand as he eliminated Lyric Duveyoung out in fourth place. All the chip went into the middle with Gould having 
against 
Gould paired his King on the Turn to send Duveyoung to the rail missing his open ended straight draw on the River.
Three handed play lasted for just over an hour as Gould and Williams traded blows doubling each other up through out, while Banducci took down the smaller pots adding to his chip stack. We finally got to heads up when Banducci called Gould All In with pocket Sevens but found himself behind against pocket Tens. The lead lasted until the fell on the Flop giving Bancucci a set. With no Ten on the Turn or River Gould headed for the rail in third place.
Banducci held the chip lead going into heads up having $5.2 million to Williams $1.2 million chip stack. The end came when Banducci picked up and called the All In raise from Williams who had

but the on the Turn gave Williams a chance of a split pot needing a Queen on the River. The 
confirmed Banducci’s win in this event pickng up the $636,736 first place prize and the much sought after WSOP bracelet.
