Poker Stars saw a lot of action, courtesy its huge jackpot this weekend. Full Tilt seems to have broken the spell of overlays, while Bodog is still shelling out to meet the guarantee, although it fared a little better than the last week’s tourney.

Poker Stars Sunday Million

Usually Poker Stars has a $1 million jackpot, but there was a 2X promotion in place, so this weekend’s lucky winners were going to take home double of what they would have normally won. However, with the guarantee being that high, there was a larger than expected number of buy-ins, totally around 14,000. This brought the prize pool up to $2,836,200, a record for Poker Stars. The second largest prize pool was a little more than a year ago, when around 10,000 players created a pool of $2,428,800.

If the players hadn’t decided to deal, the winner could’ve made money to the tune of $300,000. But of course, the deal was made, as is always the case with large prize pools. The three players that survived the game till the last round were xanja, who was also had the most chips, TimDawg888, and PokerMurphy1, the player with the short-stack. The players cut a deal that meant xanja would take away $235,000, $205,356 would go to TimDawg888, and PokerMurphy1 would get $167,789. According to the chopping regulations that Poker Stars uses, $30,000 would go to the final winner of the tournament.

PokerMurphy1 finished off in third place with his $167,789 intact, as he was taken out of the race by TimDawg888. The other two then battled it out with each other, with xanja retaining the most number of chips, in spite of TimDawg888 having taken out PokerMurphy1. But TimDawg888 came up trumps in the end, to take away the $30,000 winnings, as the lead money winner. The difference between the two was $356.

The final results:

  • 1. **TimDawg888 — $235,356
  • 2. **xanja — $235,000
  • 3. **PokerMurphy1 — $167,789
  • 4. kpax22 — $113,448
  • 5. KAG1 — $85,086
  • 6. Roundhauskik — $63,815
  • 7. sjoko — $45,379
  • 8. Bumper111 — $29,496
  • 9. funplay800 — $21,272

** Payout was a three-way split made at the final table with $30,000 left for the eventual winner.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed

The run of overlays at Full Tilt was broken this weekend, after running a course of 10 weeks continuously. The prize pool that was notched up was $834,600, after 4,173 poker players bought into the game. The first prize payout that night was $147,382.

The exciting final moments of the game took place between Mark “dipthrong” Herm, and DG101. The difference in the chips totalled to more than $58,000, with Dipthrong more than in the lead. He finally surfaced at the end, taking away a major chunk of the money in the end. He had previously cleaned up at Bodog as well, making it a really good night for the poker player.

The final results:

  • 1. Mark “dipthrong” Herm — $147,382
  • 2. DG101 — $89,219
  • 3. alow4194 — $58,422
  • 4. TSDwarrior — $45,903
  • 5. Berthiaume01 — $34,469
  • 6. Brian “DUSoonerKid” Hansen (pictured above right) — $25,539
  • 7. boykee — $19,196
  • 8. lazman04 — $15,023
  • 9. Pfefffff — $11,184

Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed

Bodog proved a little more popular than previously, although it still had to shell out around $21,700 to cover the shortfall this weekend. There were all in all 783 buy-ins at the site, out of which the two left at the final round were 1ManCrew and Mark “dipthrong” Herm.

No surprises here, as we previously mentioned that Dipthrong made his presence felt in this game room as well. He got the $23,600 first place, in addition to his Full Tilt win. He was apparently playing both games simultaneously which make the wins even more extraordinary. His total earnings totted up to a staggering $171,000, a great sweep on the tables.

The final results:

  • 1. Mark “dipthrong” Herm — $23,600
  • 2. 1ManCrew — $13,600
  • 3. fatal — $9,100
  • 4. GotSmChange4Ya — $7,000
  • 5. Yardmaster — $5,700
  • 6. scorpiovie — $4,500
  • 7. Poncelet — $3,300
  • 8. ryder_back — $2,200
  • 9. kobepeyton — $1,300
