Holdem888 Victorious in the Poker Star Million

The Poker Stars Millions tournament this week attracted 5,918 players generating a $1,183,600 prize pool, giving the winner $187,995 first place prize and paying up to 810 places, numbers were a little down this week compared to previous weeks with a number of big events happening at the same time on the other rival poker rooms including Full Tilts FTOPS series 4 event.

Owen ‘ocrowe’Crowe had the chip lead with $14 million in chips going into the start of the final table a quite healthy lead that he could sit and wait for players to fall.

It was Chimpy07 was the first to go, going all in holding but was called and dominated by Duy The Master calling with the pocket 9’s held up with the board coming down giving Duy the full house, Chimpy07 took the $7,811 for 9th place.

Drama was next to go, Holdem 888 called an all in from Drama holding against the dominating hand held up again with the board showing Drama going out in 8th winning $12,427.

Mcc3991 unluckily was the next to go, he was the big favourite all in pre flop with against Himclip85 holding the flop was very kind to Himclip85 giving him the set coming down Mcc3991 needed an A on the turn and river to turn it around but it never came with coming down knocking him out in 7th winning $20,713.

We had to wait for a few hands before we had our next casualty, Ocrowe beat KattKronen who was short stacked calling the raise from Ocrowe. KattKronen was in the lead holding against The flop was no help to either coming down but the river cracked KattKronen’s lead with the on the river sent KattKronen out with the and he took home $28,998 6th prize.

The next short stacked player Bachelor was next to go, moving all in holding was quickly called by Himclip85 holding The board came down knocking him out in 5th winning $40,242.

Ocrowe went shortly after against Duy The Master, both he and Duy had limped in pre flop, the flop had come when Ocrowe moved all in holding which was quickly called by Duy holding The pocket sixes held up with the turn and river giving Duy the full house, Ocrowe cashed $52,078 in 4th for his trouble.

The three remaining players decided to split the remaining prize pool and leave $30,000 for the winner. Holdem888 quickly reduced the field to two players first taking a big pot off Duy and the very next hand knocking him out of the tournament in 3rd taking home just over $95,000.

Both players moved all in after the flop came down showing the flush draw, but Holdem888 was behind playing against with his but the turn put Holdem888 in the lead though coming down and the on the river was no good to Duy.

Heads up play for the remaining $30,000 went quickly which was helped by Holdem888’s chip lead. Calling an all in move holding against it wasn’t looking too good for Holdem888 until the board hit him on the flop coming down Holdem888 took the money with the turn and river giving him 1st place and a nice $141,000 dollars
