This week PokerStars managed to pull in a total of 7,245 entrants and paid an overlay of $51,000, which was several times better than the 7,133 entrants and $73,400 overlay of the last week. Bodog paid out the highest overlay of all three sites, and the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed tourney had improved on its player traffic and took in 3,572 players, making for an overlay of $35,600.

PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million tournament went on as usual this weekend and made many a poker player very happy. This week, also saw PokerStars paying out an overlay, but the silver lining was that it did not have to pay as high an overlay as it dished out last Sunday.

This week, the PokerStars Sunday Million had secured tournament player traffic of only 7,245 participants. This means the site was exactly 255 players short of escaping the overlay and making the guarantee. The first place winner would eventually take in at least $185,000, if a deal was not made at the final table.

However, the poker pot proved to be too tempting for all the finalists and the last three standing decided to go for a three way split. Chris “cdbr3799” Dombrowski, Allanon85, and aty79 were the top three finalists who split the pot between them, leaving $30,000 on the table for the winner, as per PokerStars rules, who turned out to be Allanon85.

The final results:

  • **Allanon85 — $177,450
  • **aty79 — $109,000
  • **Chris “cdbr3799” Dombrowski — $107,000
  • Soren “Kongsgaard” Kongsgaard — $69,000
  • forza-guti — $54,000
  • insanocut — $39,000
  • tnapoleao — $26,250
  • Tyler9897 — $17,250
  • sjco22 — $10,500

** The Payout reflects a three-way split made between the last three players at the final table.
Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed

Full Tilt hosted its $750,000-guaranteed event and took in 3,572 players. This was a better turnout than last weeks’ 3,454 players and the site only had to make an overlay of $35,600 to meet the $750,000 guarantee.

The final showdown had TheDirrty and FadinAway locking horns for the $52,000 difference in payouts for the winner’s position. Eventually it was FadinAway who grabbed the first place prize of $132,788.

The final results:

  • FadinAway — $132,788
  • TheDirrty — $80,250
  • Dstemrich — $52,500
  • TheAsianVampire — $41,400
  • Kisso — $31,050
  • Corporations — $23,025
  • crazychicken — $17,250
  • Matteo02 — $13,500
  • Chris “MarvinGarden” Birchby — $10,050

Bodog Poker Open II Main Event

This weekend saw the Bodog poker site host the main event of the Bodog Poker Open II.
Bodog took in some decent poker player traffic at 477 entrants at $500 buy-ins for its grand tourney. Unfortunately the guarantee was $300,000, which the site was not able to meet and had to pay $75,810 as an overlay. Eventually zubz1aa and El Rubio became the last two contenders, and it was zubz1aa who won the main event.

The final results:

  • zubz1aa — $75,000
  • El Rubio — $45,000
  • cmizzles3687 — $28,500
  • flipflopn — $21,000
  • Justin58 — $16,500
  • Hasn82 — $13,500
  • SHiFtYFiNGeR — $10,500
  • ArmyDrill — $6,600
  • Justin Bonomo — $5,100
