The holiday season certainly doesn’t seem to be a deterrent to poker playing! This was a big weekend for poker with the division playoffs of the World Cup of Poker on at PokerStars and the APPT events in Sydney taking place, as well as the regular Sunday tournaments, the PokerStars Sunday Million, the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed and the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed. The first of these of these tournaments on Sunday was won by drritalin, Eric ‘basebaldy’ Baldwin won the Full Tilt $75,000 Guaranteed and woodhawk took down the Bodog $100,000 guaranteed.

PokerStars Sunday Million

At this week’s Sunday Million at PokerStars, there were 7,557 entrants, a $200 + $16 buy-in and a prize pool of $1,515,400 for some great No Limit Hold ‘Em. There were a lot of PokerStars professionals playing in the Sunday Million this weekend, including well-known names such as  Marcin Horecki, William Thorson (1221st place), Dario Minieri, Steve Paul-Ambrose, John Duthie, Isabelle Mercier and Barry Greenstein (won 351st place and $909.24)

The final results:

**There was a five-way chop at the PokerStars Sunday Million this Sunday, leaving $30,000 for the final winner.


Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed

It was Eric ‘basebaldy’ Baldwin who took home first place prize in the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee tournament this Sunday.  This week, there were only 3,517 entrants, so there was an overlay of $46,600 for this event at Full Tilt. The prize pool of $750,000 was scooped by Baldwin after he defeated playnwithnada in head to head play.
The players at the final table were hiclimber in Seat 1 with 6,243,555 chips, drritalin in Seat 2 with 14,670,216 chips, herdgolf86 in Seat 3 with 9,750,193 in chips, Winn8D in Seat 4 with 7,103,357 chips, mozitas in Seat 5 with 3,488,167 chips, Aftret in Seat 6 with 6,387,148 chips, mrvogt in Seat 7 with 7,929,158 chips, JSchnett in Seat 8 with 4,743,206 chips and ggiillaadd in Seat 9 with 15,455,000 chips.

The final results:

  • 1.    Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin — $132,787
  • 2.    playnwithnada — $80,250
  • 3.    ZioStefano — $52,500
  • 4.    ALLinwithdaBEST — $41,400
  • 5.    thinkinghard — $31,050
  • 6.    Evan “BerkeleyBoss” Wrenn — $23,025
  • 7.    MattZman — $17,250
  • 8.    JLizard — $13,500
  • 9.    13TH BASS PRO — $10,050


Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed

At the Bodog $100,000 $100 + 9 guaranteed tournament, 90 out of the 702 participants shared in the - $100,000 prize money, but it was woodhawk who walked away with the largest amount with his first place win in the tournament. The low number of entrants resulted in an overlay of $29,800 to be met by for Bodog.
Serge ‘Adanthar’ Ravitch, with a 17th place finish, was one of the players who didn’t make it to the final table – those who did were woodhawk, homeofthebrave, skinznbonez, IAMTIMMY, swimlilfishy, Chris ‘chris7’ Cetrone, rolandgilead, ogg and mapsfly.
Heads up play was between the winner woodhawk and homeofthebrave – the latter was thrust into second place, with prize money of $13,600, leaving woodhawk to take the first place prize of $23,600 – exactly ten thousand dollars more than the runner-up.
