Bodog Poker fell back into its trend of overlays when it dropped attendance of around 30 players at the $100,000 guaranteed tourney. The site paid out around $28,000 in an effort to bail itself out of not meeting its guarantee. PokerStars on the other hand, did very well for itself this weekend when it exceeded its guarantee by $42,200. However, it was Full Tilt that put on the best show this week and had the biggest pot.

PokerStars Sunday $1.5Million

The PokerStars Sunday $1.5 million poker tourney is enjoying success without any overlays and exceeding its guarantee because of the number of players raked in. This weekend the site took in 7,711 players which resulted in a grand prize pool of $1,542,200 which was $42,200 over the mark.

As a result a total of $189,000 was left behind for the winner. Unlike last week, no deal was cut at the table, and this was a great night for the first place winner.

Jonathan “TherookieQQ9” Plens was the lucky winner and defeated RunThisTable at the final game. The difference between the first place prize and the second was around $62,000.

The final results:

  • Jonathan “TherookieQQ9” Plens — $188,920
  • RunThisTable — $127,386
  • rickyhatton — $86,363
  • Mazelucky — $70,170
  • 1011001011 — $54,748
  • elemonator37 — $39,326
  • Lamberjack12 — $26,989
  • ragsrellum — $17,735
  • adamx — $10,795

Full Tilt Online Poker Series X: Event No. 9 $1.5 Million-Guaranteed

The usual weekly Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed tournament was canceled last night in favour of one of the largest events in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series X.

The FTOPS X Event No. 9 which had a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool drew in 5,370 entrants, making it a very successful night for the online poker site. The tourney had a $300 buy-in with no limits.  The poker prize pool amounted to $1,611,000 and the winner took home one of the largest possible prizes in online tournament poker.

The final results:

  • Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek — $277,930
  • xTheory — $168,350
  • megax82 — $108,259
  • Keven “Stammdogg” Stammen— $84,578

Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed

Bodog did not fare so well this weekend when its $100,000 guaranteed poker tournament managed to score in only 720 participants in comparison to the previous weekend game which raked in a total of 750 entrants. As a result of the low player tally, Bodog Poker had to pay a big overlay of $28,000 to match its $100,000 guarantee. The overlay was more than one- fourth of the total prize money and quite a few thousands ahead of the first place prize that the winner of the tourney took home that night.

The final table saw improved and maberle competing for the big prize and it was a tough fight as they were playing for a $10,000 difference in prizes. Eventually, it was maberle who took home the extra $10,000, taking in a total of $23,600.

The final results:

  • maberle — $23,600
  • improved — $13,600
  • sprink 669 — $9,100
  • nash07 — $7,000
  • twelver1232 — $5,700
  • stberry27901 — $4,500
  • velocity2007 — $3,300
  • EScrote — $2,200
  • CohibaSiglo — $1,300
