PokerStars has been celebrating a big milestone this week with the 25th billion hands that have been dealt in total. The excitement from that promotion was carried into the PokerStars Sunday Million, which was made into a special event. This event carried a guarantee of two and a half million dollars instead of the usual one million dollars. Ferl0k, a player from Buenos Aires, was the winner of the Special PokerStars Sunday Million. There wasn’t much weekend action at Full Tilt, since the usual $750,000 guaranteed tournament was not held. Bodog hosted the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed as usual, and this fairly low key event was won by Jon “PearlJammer” Turner, who took home $23,600.

PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million Guaranteed

Participation in the Special PokerStars Sunday Million this weekend was very enthusiastic. There were an amazing 13,267 poker players entering the tournament and hoping to win a share of the hefty prize pool, which amounted to $2,653,400.
At the beginning of play at the final table, A6540 was the low stack with 7,836,702 chips, while Ferl0k led the pack with 37,996,441 chips. DaMith was the first to go out of the game, when his queens fell to aurora446’s kings. Jay094, who went out next, was eliminated by pokthemonkey. At this point, the seven players who were left at the final table decided split the pool. So the tournament ended in a rare seven way chop, with an additional $30,000 going to the last person at the table. The rest of the players left the game in quick succession, till finally only pokthemonkey and Ferl0k were left at the table. Ferl0k was the final winner of the Special PokerStars Sunday Million.

The final results:

  • **Ferl0k — $229,686
  • **pokthemonkey — $115,000
  • **GreenEyes017 — $101,281
  • **Somal — $114,755
  • **TakenItEasy2 — $120,811
  • **aurora446 — $126,987
  • **A6540 — $100,001
  • Jay094 — $29,187
  • DaMith — $18,573

**These players shared a seven way chop in the PokerStars Sunday Million on Sunday, February 15, 2009.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed

The Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee was not held this weekend.

Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed

The tureen out in the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed tournament this week was a little down. With 657 entrants coming in on the $100 + 9 buy in for the No Limit Hold ‘Em game, the prize pool of $100,000 was reached only with an overlay of $34,300 from Bodog Poker. The standard of play was quite good, though, and it took hard work and serious concentration from the eventual winner, Jon “PearlJammer” Turner to get rid of his rivals. Turner is a regular player at Bodog and well known in the world of online poker. This is Jon “PearlJammer” Turner’s fourth time at the final table in the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed, and the second time he has won the event. This time, he stayed in the game while others, starting with SBoarder1620, were eliminated one by one. Heads up play was between Turner and bwalk, who left the game as the runner up with $13,600.

The final results:

  • Jon “PearlJammer” Turner — $23,600
  • bwalk — $13,600
  • VThokie09 — $9,100
  • A_Webb_13 — $7,000
  • superroger47 — $5,700
  • guero1 — $4,500
  • triplehurdle — $3,300
  • pugmeister — $2,200
