Wednesday, August 20, 2008 | Alan Merriman
We had some interesting poker tournaments this weekend, with a fairly good number of expert poker players vying for the prizes in the weekly Pokerstars Sunday Million, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event No. 10 (which replaced the usual Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee Tournament) and the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed.
PokerStars Sunday Million
Gunslinger3 from the United States showed poker fans some good shooting this weekend at the Pokerstars Sunday Million. This week there were 7651 participants which made a solid pool of $1,530,200. Besides Gunslinger3, the players at the final table were x-13, OCTAGONS, Neab, Octavian_C, bastinho06, RBC, exomil and M.nosbocaJ. x-13 was leading for a while but in the end, Gunslinger’s straight shooting prevailed and he won a substantial $140,921 at this tournament. It was a pair of jacks that made Gunslinger3 the winner of the PokerStars Sunday Million on August 17, 2008, and netted him a chop of $110,921 and $30,000 for coming in first.

Full Tilt Online Poker Series $2.5 Million Guaranteed
There were two challenging Full Tilt Online Poker Series events this weekend. The FTOPS main event was a $2.5 Million Guaranteed tournament which generated a lot of interest. There were 4,880 participants, and a total payout of $2,500,000 was made to nearly 650 players. Since there were so many entrants, there was an overlay this Sunday. The eventual winner of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series $2.5 Million Guaranteed was dubbeemin, who was lucky enough and skilful enough to take home a prize of $432,400 – one of the biggest prizes to be won by a PocketFiver. His rivals were eliminated one at a time, starting with TiltinShoes, who was followed by aaaFRANCESCOzzz, tvsca, hemlock 1313, sckilla, PokerGuru, TheTotalPkg. In the end, dubeemin ousted valleyho (who won $262,500) and took first place in the tournament.
The final results:
- dubbeemin — $432,400
- valleyho — $262,500

Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed
In Bodog’s $100,000 guarantee tournament this Sunday, there was an interesting number of participants – 666! The devil’s own luck, though, was with Nikkiyayo this weekend, as he walked away with $23,600. Nikkiyayo beat jjbrut at the final table, earning $10,000 more than his closest rival. Because of the low attendance, Bodog provided $33,400 – which was one third of the total prize money. Payouts totaling $100,000 were made to 90 players –there was a hefty overlay this weekend of $27,406.
The final results:
- nikkiyayo — $23,600
- jjbrut — $13,600
- nickdodoublegee — $9,100
- Evan “Oakplayer” Schwartz — $7,000
- Remih — $5,700
