In this weekend’s poker action, the three major tournaments were well attended. The PokerStars Sunday Million had a turnout of over 8200 participants and it was LosChief who eventually won (after a two way chop), taking home a prize of over $183,000.
In Full Tilt $1 Million Guaranteed, the special monthly event that replaces the usual Sunday Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed Tournament, it was bigdennys who was the big winner. He won $206,106.08 at this special tournament. At Bodog, it was 1Man Crew, also known as dont77, who prevailed over his competitors to take home a prize of $23,600.
PokerStars Sunday Million
The PokerStars Sunday Million on Sunday, January 19, 2009, had a $200 + $15 buy in and 8260 entrants came in on this. These players made up a prize pool of $1,652,000 so there was no overlay required from PokerStars.
When the tournament reached the final table stagetwopairdad was chip leader with 18,272,833 chips, LosChief had 12,200,744 chips, Oracle MCA had 11,041,821 chips, AngeL_fH had 9,848,917 chips, Birdstone44 had 8,614,498 chips, play2call had 7,921,473 chips, Aaron “dyeti” Armstrong had 5,459,890 chips, Raccabacka had 4,982,369 chips and Matt “swifterjet” Swift was the short stack with 4,257,455 chips.
Raccabacka was the first to go, ousted by twopairdad, Raccabacka took home $11,564 for a ninth place finish. Again, it was twopairdad who was responsible for the next elimination beating AngeL_fH in eighth place winning $18,998. Next to go was play2call who was eliminated in seventh place and took home $28,910. Aaron “dyeti” Armstrong and Oracle MCA were the sixth and fifth place finishers, with prizes of $41,300 and $57,820 respectively. Matt “swifterjet” Swift was yet another victim of twopairdad’s skill and luck, going out in fourth place and taking home $74,340. Finally, it was twopairdad’s turn to be ousted at third place with $91,686. This left heads up play down to LosChief and Birdstone44, who made a two way deal. It was LosChief who made the win and took the extra $30,000 to win the PokerStars Sunday Million this weekend.

Full Tilt $1 Million Guaranteed
There were 2,247 participants in the Full Tilt $1 Million guaranteed tournament on Sunday, all battling for the first prize of $206,106.08.
After a long battle, heads up play came down to Steve “gboro780″ Gross with 6,702,727 chips and bigdennys with 4,532,273. Despite bigdennys starting off with the lower chip count, he won the tournament, and took home $206,106.08, leaving Steve Gross with $126,506.10 in second place.

The Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed had 642 players coming in on the $100 + 9 buy in. There was a prize pool of $100,000, which factored in a $35,800 overlay. The Eventual winner was 1ManCrew who a prize of $23,600.
