Weekend

Yet another weekend of overlays for all three poker tournaments. This weekend saw many happy winners especially at PokerStars when the prize was split between the last four sitting at the table. Bodog is showing some improvements and has a gradually increasing amount of tournament player traffic. Full Tilt hosted a monthly tourney for a million dollars and paid out a small overlay. This overlay was almost half the size of Bodog’s for its 100,000 guarantee. The PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million tourney also paid an overlay, which was smaller than both the overlays paid out by the other two sites.

This week, it would seem that the sites with the highest guarantees paid out the lowest overlays.

PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million Guaranteed

The PokerStars Sunday Million almost made its guarantee last week when it took in a total of 7,446 participants, which were just 54 players short of meeting the guarantee. PokerStars paid out $10,800 into the pot to meet the $1.5 million guarantee. In addition, the site also took in $112,000 in entry fees.

The final results:

  • **doulas12 — $125,478
  • **Crackpfeife — $105,123
  • **anetas1 — $125,824
  • **joncheng — $106,024
  • rimmer27 — $54,000
  • DragonBenoni — $39,000
  • slumpee — $26,250
  • petit ponche — $17,250
  • xannax20 — $10,500

* *A final deal was truck between the top 4 players, leaving $30,000 on the table for the winner.

Full Tilt $1 Million Guaranteed
Full Tilt ran its monthly tourney last week and had players competing to win money from the $1 million-guaranteed prize pool. The event brought in a total of 1,943 players who bought into the event at $500 each. This number of players still proved insufficient for the site to meet its guarantee and it had to pay out an overlay of $11,400.

The final stages were fought between three players, namely Caio Cesar “I CaioPimenta I” Pimenta, Leandro Brasa and DeMaci. Eventually DeMaci was eliminated collecting $74,000 in third place, leaving Brasa and Pimenta to battle it out. Leandro Brasa won the event and went home $184,000 richer.

The final results:

  • Leandro Brasa — $184,000
  • Caio Cesar “I CaioPimenta I” Pimenta — $113,000
  • DeMaci — $74,000
  • Shane “HateItOrLoveIt” Schleger— $59,000
  • Yevgeniy “bballer88” Timoshenko — $45,000
  • Pippi78 — $32,200
  • Spuch — $23,500
  • DeuceBuster — $18,500
  • ninivan — $14,000

Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed

Bodog had a better weekend this week and drew in an increased percentage of players. The $100,000 guaranteed tourney managed to take in a total of 639 entrants but still ended up paying an overlay. This week’s overlay only missed being bigger than both the first place prize and the second place prize combined by a few hundred dollars – six hundred to be exact.

The top three finalists were aviv, Lucas “BeaverFever” Rifkin and hiccup. However, Lucas “BeaverFever” Rifkin soon dropped out and the race continued between the other two. Aviv won the final table and took home $23,600 as the first-place prize in the event.

The final results:

  • aviv — $23,600
  • hiccup — $13,600
  • Lucas “BeaverFever” Rifkin — $9,100
  • Jocke “TheBratKid” Treijs — $7,000
  • Yanni — $5,700
  • Higgy1020 — $4,500
  • cusee — $3,300
  • markit8dude — $2,200
  • rated23 — $1,300
