There was a big turn out for most of the major online poker tournaments with the Poker Stars Million event doing the best.  There was no need for an overlay for the $1.5 million guarantee as 8,800 entrants started out smashing the guarantee by over $200,000.  The Full Tilt $750,000 was back after the FTOPS series was played out over the last 2 weeks. This event pulled in just over 4,000 players.  Bodog on the other hand had to lay out a third of its $100,000 guarantee as the 675 entrants accumulated only $67,500.  Great value for the players but not so good for Bodog.

Poker Stars Million

The large field entering the Sunday Million this week meant this was the biggest tournament of the week end meaning the winner would be the best paid player online with just over $200,000 for first place.

When we reached the final table stage of the event cmyworth was the chip leader with over $20 million in his chip stack.  Just over $4 million more than his nearest rival iggymcfly.  It was these 2 players who eventually made it to heads up with iggymcfly having turned the tables having over $55 million more in chips.  This didn’t stop cmyworth as 2 crucial hands turned the whole match on its head.  First Iggy’s pocket three’s were beaten by pocket sevens.  Iggy then moved all in with :ac :2h and cmyworth called with :kd :10h The board came down :4c :10d :9h :2s :7c to hand cmyworth the first place prize.

Final Results

  • 1st cmyworth $213,136

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee

The 4,048 entrants in the Full Tilt $750,000 tournament generated a big prize pool with 1st place set to take $142,967. When the final table was reached Majchi was the chip leader with just under $3.5 million in chips, double the chip stack of second placed KingFish83.  This event played out almost exactly the same as the Sunday million with these 2 players making it to heads up, and KingFish who was in second place to start held a $7 million chip lead over Majchi.  Only difference here was the chip leader put his stack to good use taking down the event beating :kd :4s with pocket ten’s.

Final Results

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

Once again Bodog had to fork out a huge overlay to make up the $100,000 guarantee.  This was great value for the 675 players who entered the event.  In the end it was dead money627 who took advantage of the value taking home the $23,600 first place prize.
