There was plenty of action and excitement this weekend at the Sunday Poker tournaments, with big winner Danny Ryan winning close to $190,000 at the PokerStars Sunday Million as well as making an excellent showing in twenty third place in the Full Tilt $75,000 Guarantee. That’s a good way to spend a weekend!  Danny Ryan was voted as the best PokerStars qualifier at the EPT Awards of the recent European Poker Tour.

PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million Guaranteed

Like the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed this last Sunday, the players at the PokerStars Sunday Million were less than the previous week. The prize pool at the Sunday Million was $1,551,000.  There were 7,755 entrants and the game came down to final table players Bjorn-Erik “Hikkespett” Glenne, Danny “THE__D__RY” Ryan, A_Ivanovich, Keven “Stammdogg” Stammen, Major_BomB, xfadomas666, Verichip, thebosshead and parachuting. It was Danny Ryan who held watchers’ attention and took home the big money with a prize of $189,997.50, followed by xfadomas666 and parachuting with $128,112.60 and $86,856.00 respectively.

The final results:

  • Danny “THE__D__RY” Ryan — $189,997
  • xfadomas666 — $128,112

Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed

At the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee on Sunday, there weren’t enough entrants to reach the guarantee figure so Full Tilt put in the $21,200 overlay. The first place money was $132,787 and it was MicoTX who won this, prevailing over final table rivals Wasaki coke (who came in second), spandit, Ali Khalil, PXFACTOR, Mike Spinasanta, DNA2RNA, Embetant and David Peters. Heads up play between MicoTX and Wasaki coke didn’t last long and the former soon ousted the latter.

There were other well-known players at the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee and play was made interesting by the presence of serious poker players Jordan Morgan, Matthew “ionlyplayAA” Hilger who came in 16th , Nikolay Evdakov, Rami “Arbianight” Boukai in 58th place, Berry Johnston, Svetlana Gromenkova, KipsterDK in 37th place, Mark “scrubbyz” Zajdner in 33rd place,  Esther Rossi and Daniel “Kochan” Kochan who made it to 67th place. Interest grew when it was known that Danny Ryan was not only playing in the Full Tilt Sunday tournament, but also in the PokerStars Sunday Million.

The final results:

  • MicoTX -$132,787
  • Wasaki coke - $80,250

Over a fourth of the prize money was brought up to the guarantee with Bodog’s contribution. Famous Bodog poker player Ari ‘BodogAri’ Engel was in the game but it was IGotAPair and Mortadelo who came to head to head play, and the former who eventually won, taking home $97,360.80.
