Weekend

Bodog Poker had an average weekend paying out the weekly overlay despite some strong players at the tables. Full Tilt also paid out an overlay but seemed to be improving its tournament player traffic. PokerStars required no overlay and enjoyed a great tourney this weekend.
PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million Guaranteed
Last week saw Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan make news when he participated in two big poker tournaments, namely the Sunday $1.5 Million guaranteed and the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed. He won first place in the PokerStars as well. This week the lucky Peter “twirlpro” Turmezy chose to follow in the footsteps of Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan and participated in both tournaments as well.
Like Danny Ryan, Peter “twirlpro” Turmezy also won the first place prize in the PokerStars Sunday $1.5 Million Guaranteed but did not make it to the final table at the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed.
The final results:
- Peter “twirlpro” Turmezy — $196,024
- fratzl — $132,176
- NewsKoooL — $89,611

Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed
Full Tilt managed to secure good number of players this week when it roped in 3,668 players for the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed poker tourney. Despite the good player traffic, the site still had to pay out an overlay of $16,400 to cover the tournament guarantee.
Some of the players who competed at the tables were well known and reputed names like Keith Sexton, Ram Vaswani, Scott Fischman, Peter Turmezy, Dave Colclough, Matt “NoBadBeatsPlz” Kay, James “mx4ever” Sloat, Stephen “stevie444″ Chidwick, Hans “miAmihAns” Winzeler and Brent “Bhanks11″ Hanks.
In the end, the three final players were David “Doc Sands” Sands, tibzen and andressoprano. The winner of the tourney was David “Doc Sands” Sands who defeated andressoprano for the first place and took home a grand prize of $132,787.
The final results:

- andressoprano — $80,250
- tibzen — $52,500

- Ravenut — $10,050
Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed
Bodog grew its player base by a meager ten or so players this weekend, when it drew in 729 participants. The site had to cough it usual overlay, which was characteristically larger than the amount of the prize money that the first place winner, Balla686, took home. This time the site contributed a $27,100 overlay while the first place winner took home $23,600.
This weekend, Bodog’s poker tables pulled in a few well known names and strong players. Unfortunately, this did not generate enough action at the tables or surprising moves. Overall, it was a quiet day for Bodog.
Eventually, Balla686 came in first with $23,600, and he was followed by MikeYall who took home $13,600 and finally MrElPaso who won $9,100.
The final results:
- Balla686 — $23,600
- MikeYall — $13,600
- MrElPaso — $9,100
- Paz5050 — $7,000
- KunkMan — $5,700
- cubano74 — $4,500
- boondock11 — $3,300
- VOITTAJATYYPPI — $2,200
- makeutap247 — $1,300
