Online tournament roundup

This week brought in quite a good turnout of players for the Sunday tournaments held by Pokerstars, Bodog and Full Tilt Poker. All three tournaments ended without a chop, which resulted in the winners going home with heavier pockets than usual. Participant numbers were climbing at two of the poker rooms but the Bodog Sunday tournament lost 52 entrants this weekend. However, if last week at Pokerstars was an example of a current trend, then Bodog should be roping in new players next week.

Pokerstars Sunday Millions

The number of entrants picked up and reached a total of 7,394 players who bought in this Sunday. Although the tournament traffic was far better than last week, it is the top traffic of 8,063 participants on March 3 that is the number to beat.

C00LHandNuke, Shark’Le and Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis were the three lucky finalists who were battling over the big pot and first prize place. The pot collected from all the players alone amounted to a grand $1,478,800. C00LHandNuke chose not to tamper with the payouts by doing a deal at the end and went on to win the tournament and along with it a bumper payday of $208,510.
The final results:

  1. C00LHandNuke — $208,510
  2. Shark’Le — $104,994
  3. Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis — $73,940
  4. Vorcirion — $59,152
  5. LennyL — $44,364
  6. idlehours — $32,533
  7. pusteblume — $22,921
  8. FrgzAnonymus — $13,309
  9. debrisfish — $8,724

Bodog $100,000 Guarantee

The Bodog $100,000 Guarantee took its rightful place this weekend, unlike last week when the Bodog Poker open was held in its stead.

Numbers dropped at Bodog when they lost around 52 poker entrants this week and the prize money amounted to the guaranteed $100,000 with Bodog funding about $28,000 of that. Out of an overall total of 720 entrants, ATM4Life, farhamyhero and thedude81 were the last three left at the table. ATM4Life cashed in as the final winner and took home a pot of $25,000, while farhamyhero and thedude81 came in second and third respectively.
The final results:

  1. ATM4Life — $25,000
  2. farhamyhero — $14,300
  3. thedude81 — $9,200
  4. Varmkorv — $6,900
  5. TLWatts86 — $5,500
  6. zdepew2000 — $4,500
  7. uxa567 — $3,500
  8. YoungGun7 — $2,500
  9. NYStyle King — $1,600

Full Tilt 1 Million Guaranteed

This week proved to be a very lucky one for Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier who came in second in the Full Tilt 1 Million Guaranteed tournament. Although he did not emerge as the main winner, he did walk away with 1,200 points towards the Online Player of the Year competition, not to mention the $126,393 he took home as 2nd place prize money. All these accolades combined with last week’s points catapults “IWEARGOGGLES” into second place on the online player of the year standings list.

The real star of the show was of course Plotinus who vied with IWEARGOGGLES for the first place and beat him in the finals. Plotinus took in a prize worth $205,922 with his win with again the unusual situation of no deal being made at the final table.

The final results:

  1. Plotinus — $205,922
  2. Luke “IWEARGOGGLES” Staudenmaier — $126,393
  3. Liina Love — $82,728
  4. LagTart — $66,003
  5. 6speed — $49,951
  6. SemiEvil — $35,920
  7. SkaDoodle — $26,378
  8. Mr Perfekt — $20,654
  9. Drew843 — $15,715

Take your seat at one of the regular big weekend tournaments by signing up at Pokerstars , Full Tilt Poker or Bodog and you could be the one winning big money next week. Regular satellites run to these tournaments, so you can also win your seat for as little as a few dollars.
