It was a mixed bag this Sunday for poker players as far as the three big online tournaments; Pokerstars, Full Tilt and Bodog were concerned. While Pokerstars saw a turnout in excess of 7000 players, Full Tilt dipped in numbers and Bodog maintained its upward streak of increasing turnouts by the week.
In both Full Tilt and Bodog tournaments, there was an overlay required from the poker room to meet the guaranteed prize money. In both these tournament we saw an outright winner with no chop being made. On the other hand, the PokerStars event as usual smashed it’s guarantee and a deal was done between the final two players to split the remaining prize money with a two-way chop.
PokerStars Sunday Million
The event had a turnout of 7,680 entrants making the $1,536,000 total prize pool the largest the Sunday Million (in it’s $200 buy-in form) has seen since early March. In contrast last week’s $1,000 buy-in event which replaces the $200 buy in event on the first week of each month had a prize pool of $1,869,000.
The final saw a heads-up match between Vaga_Lion and V00D00CHILE and the stacks were fairly evenly loaded for each player. This made the two players opt for an even chop of the prize pool. As the PokerStars rules maintain that $30,000 has to remain on the table for the eventual winner, this meant each player was guaranteed at least $147,816 as they continued to play for the remaining $30k prize money. Vaga_Lion took first place making his total winnings $177,816. The first place winner could have taken almost $217,000 if the event had gone unchopped.
The final results:
- 1. **Vaga_Lion — $177,816
- 2. **V00D00CHILE — $147,816
- 3. princessl111 — $76,800
- 4. exceed_EXE — $61,440
- 5. billusnail — $46,080
- 6. johne147 — $33,792
- 7. garsn — $23,808
- 8. Fjusse — $13,824
- 9. jkcva — $9,062
** A two-way even chop, with $30,000 remaining for the eventual winner as per the prevailing PokerStars chopping rules.
Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed
There was a shortfall of 199 entrants for the event requiring an overlay for the first time this year. The number of entrants stood at 3,551 whereas the event requires 3,750 entrants or more to avoid an overlay. This meant hat Full Tilt had to fund $39,800 out of their own pocket to match the posted guarantee. The final two players in the tournament were Lee “acumen53” Childs and LasloEsq with Lee emerging as the winner.
The final results:
- 1. Lee “acumen53” Childs — $132,788
- 2. LasloEsq — $80,250
- 3. THEPUSHER1186 — $52,500
- 4. Micro-Xtreme — $41,400
- 5. Plz_Stop_Lookin — $31,050
- 6. shuriken555 — $23,025
- 7. DMZ99 — $17,250
- 8. Skalpell — $13,500
- 9. macadamion — $10,050
Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed
The Bodog $100,000 guaranteed tournament maintained its upward streak in terms of the number of entrants attracting 747 players up from the previous week’s 738 and the low of 603 from the weekend before that. In spite of this, Bodog still had to put in $25,300 as an overlay for the event which still remains to be the best value weekly tournament due to the fact that Bodog are funding significant overlays each week.
After a marathon tournament the final came down to JeniDaMoaner and dippydough who had outlasted the others to reach the final heads up. Eventually dppydough got the better of his opponent to take the $25,000 first place prize for the tournament.
The final results:
- 1. dippydough — $25,000
- 2. JeniDaMoaner — $14,300
- 3. Ace5Kid — $9,200
- 4. DOCTAYLOR — $6,900
- 5. studdboy — $5,500
- 6. Bag_o_Nuts — $4,500
- 7. Bazeman — $3,500
- 8. 3pounder — $2,500
- 9. fkpower — $1,600
Take your seat at one of the regular big weekend tournaments by signing up at Pokerstars , Full Tilt Poker or Bodog and you could be the one winning big money next week. Regular satellites run to these tournaments, so you can also win your seat for as little as a few dollars.
